Quick Tips

Tip 5

If you need to split a video signal more than once, you might want to consider amplifying the input so that no quality is lost.

Tip 4

Cables don't go bad, cable mounts do.

Tip 3

The first 3 questions in troubleshooting audio; 1. Is the device plugged in? 2. Is it turned on? 3. Is the volume up? Ask these questions first, then start changing cables out. You'll save time.

Tip 2

When micing a source with two mics, they must be the same distance from the source to prevent phasing problems. Or, the distance of the second mic from the source must be 3 times greater than the distance between the two mics.

Tip 1

When building a mix, certain frequencies may be too present because they are coming from multiple sources. Try cutting those frequencies on one source, and taking them up on another. You can even try adding those frequencies on another instrument to help fill out a full mix.
